   Yarn and knit

   Fair Isle patterns are knitted as jacquard on flatbed machines, so every colour is part of the fabric. As standard the sweater is made in acrylic yarn, which keeps colours bright and care simple. Heritage ranges often choose an acrylic/wool blend for a more traditional handle; the exact composition is stated on the quote and the care label.

   Customization and branding

   Patterns, stripes and colours follow your design and are knitted in, not printed. We turn your artwork or reference into a knit file and show you a mockup before sampling; colours are matched to your references where the yarn allows. Your logo can be knitted in or embroidered, and woven neck labels, hang tags and retail packing finish the order. Mr Balaclava’s name never appears on your products.

   Sizes and fit

   The sweater is cut to a regular fit as standard; a relaxed or oversized fit can be made for fashion ranges. Adult sizes run from XS to 3XL, and kids sizes of about 4–14 years can be knitted in the same pattern for family ranges. The sweater can also be graded to your own size chart.

   Sampling and production

   Send your brief with the style, yarn, colours, sizes, quantities and branding. We confirm the details in a mockup and tech pack and knit a sample, paid 100% in advance. Bulk production usually takes about 14 days after sample approval, and the schedule is confirmed for each order. Every piece is checked, packed to your specification and shipped with tracking.
