How socks are made

From yarn to packed pair

Socks are knitted to shape on circular knitting machines, so there is no cutting and very little waste. Here is the route every pair takes.

  1. Yarn and design

We choose the yarn blend and set the knit, the size chart and the colours in a tech pack. Yarn comes from partner spinners.

  2. Knitting

Programmed knitting machines knit the sock from cuff to toe, with the pattern, logo, cushioning and stretch zones built in.

  3. Toe closing

The open toe is closed with a flat seam. Hand linking gives a very smooth finish for premium socks; automatic closing suits large orders.

  4. Washing and heat setting

Socks are washed to soften the knit, then steamed and heat-set so they hold their shape and stretch.

  5. Inspection and boarding

Each pair is checked for holes, loose threads, size and colour, then pressed on foot-shaped forms for a uniform finish.

  6. Labelling and packing

Pairs are matched, labelled and packed in sleeves, polybags or boxes to your specification.

FAQ

Custom sock manufacturing: frequently asked questions

What is the minimum order for custom socks?

The minimum order is 50 pairs per design, for every sock type on this page.

How long does sock production take?

Standard production lead time is approximately 14 days after sample approval. Actual lead time depends on the product, quantity, customization, material availability and sampling, and the confirmed schedule is agreed for each order. Express shipping by DHL, FedEx or UPS then takes 3–6 working days.

Do you knit the socks yourselves?

Yes. Socks are knitted, finished, inspected and packed in our own factory in Sialkot, Pakistan. The yarn comes from partner spinners; we do not spin or dye yarn ourselves.

Which yarns can you use?

Combed and mercerized cotton, merino and wool blends, acrylic, bamboo viscose, polyester and recycled polyester. Almost every sock is a blend with nylon for strength and elastane for stretch. Organic or certified yarns can be sourced on request, subject to availability and documentation from the yarn supplier.

Can you knit our logo into the sock?

Yes. Logos, stripes and patterns are knitted into the sock by jacquard, so they are part of the fabric and do not crack or fade. We check the artwork against the colour and width limits of the machine before sampling. Woven labels, printed cuff labels and hang tags are also available.

Do you make compression socks?

We make sport and travel compression socks and calf sleeves with a graduated knit. They are sport and lifestyle products, not medical devices, and we do not make health claims. If you sell a medical product, the regulatory work and testing in your market are your responsibility.

Which sizes can you make?

Kids', women's and men's sizes, as one-size stretch or graded size ranges, made to your own size chart.

Can you pack socks for retail?

Yes. We pack pairs in paper sleeves, polybags or boxes, in multipacks of two, three or five, with your barcodes, header cards and labels.

What are the payment terms?

For bulk orders: 30% advance payment to confirm the order and begin production, 30% during production after you have reviewed the work-in-progress update, and the final 40% after the goods have passed quality control and are ready for shipment. Samples require 100% payment in advance.

Do you ship socks worldwide?

Yes. Every order ships with tracking. Express delivery by DHL, FedEx or UPS takes 3–6 working days, and larger orders can travel by air or sea freight. Shipping is priced by the weight of your order: up to 100 kg it travels door to door by express courier with import duties paid by us, and heavier orders go by air cargo, or by sea cargo from 500 kg, to your nearest airport or port.
