Manufacturing Services for Headwear Brands

Mr Balaclava works with fashion brands, outdoor and ski retailers, teams, workwear buyers and e-commerce sellers as their manufacturing partner. We produce under your label, from 50 pieces per design, with in-house design support, a standard lead time of 14 days, tracked worldwide shipping and a reorder process built on your archived specifications. This chapter explains how each part of that relationship works.

Who we work with

Customers we manufacture for

Most of our customers are in North America, Europe, Australia and the Middle East. They fall into a few groups, and the service they use first differs.

  • Fashion and streetwear brands launching or extending a headwear line under their own label, usually starting with 50–300 pieces per style and design support.
  • Outdoor, ski and sports retailers buying technical balaclavas, beanies and ski wear in larger runs, often with their own tech packs.
  • Teams, clubs, events and promotional buyers ordering branded stock styles on short deadlines.
  • Workwear and uniform suppliers running repeat programmes of flame-resistant, high-visibility or embroidered headwear.
  • E-commerce sellers on their own shop or marketplaces who need retail-ready packaging, barcodes and consistent reorders.

How it works

Working with Mr Balaclava in four steps

The commercial side of an order, from the first message to the delivery. The production side is on the Process pages.

  1. Brief and quote

Share the product, quantities and deadline. You get a quote with price tiers, suggested fabrics and the development timeline.

  2. Development and sample

Mockup, tech pack and a physical sample. Sample costs are quoted upfront. Samples require 100% payment in advance.

  3. Order and production

A 30% advance payment confirms the order and begins production; standard production lead time is approximately 14 days. You get milestone updates with photos, and a further 30% is due during production after you have reviewed the work-in-progress update.

  4. Delivery and reorder

The final 40% is due after the goods have passed quality control and are ready for shipment. Shipping is tracked, and your files are archived so the next order starts with one message.

FAQ

Manufacturing services: frequently asked questions

Do you work with new brands that have never manufactured before?

Yes. Many of our customers place their first-ever production order with us. Design support turns a brief into a mockup and a tech pack, the 50-piece minimum keeps the first run small, and your account manager explains each step before it happens.

How is pricing calculated?

Per piece, based on the fabric, the construction, the branding techniques, the packaging and the quantity. Quotes show price tiers, so you can see how the unit price falls as the order grows. Samples are quoted separately and require 100% payment in advance.

What are the payment terms?

For bulk orders: 30% advance payment to confirm the order and begin production, 30% during production after you have reviewed the work-in-progress update, and the final 40% after the goods have passed quality control and are ready for shipment. Samples require 100% payment in advance.

Can I order stock styles instead of a custom design?

Yes. The B2B Collection lists styles we already produce. They can be ordered blank or with your branding from 50 pieces, which skips the development stage.

Do you sign NDAs?

Yes. Send your NDA with the brief, or ask your account manager for ours. Your designs and files are not shown to or reproduced for other customers either way.

Which countries do you ship to?

Worldwide, with DHL, FedEx or UPS, tracked, in 3–6 business days. Shipping is priced by the weight of your order: up to 100 kg it travels door to door by express courier with import duties paid by us, and heavier orders go by air cargo, or by sea cargo from 500 kg, to your nearest airport or port.
