Buyer's guide

What is a cuffed beanie?

A cuffed beanie, also called a turn-up beanie or watch cap, is a knitted hat with a band at the brim that folds back on itself. The fold adds a second layer over the ears and forehead, and the wearer can roll it higher or lower to change the fit.

Because the cuff sits flat and faces forward, it is the most common place for a woven label, a patch or an embroidered logo. That makes the cuffed beanie the standard choice for logo and merchandise orders. For a shorter, shallower shape, see our fisherman beanies.

  • Brand merchandise

Cuffed beanies with a woven label or embroidered logo for staff, fans and online stores.

  • Retail basics

Solid-colour cuffed beanies in core and seasonal colours for fashion and outdoor retailers.

  • Promotions and events

Logo beanies in corporate or team colours for giveaways, launches and winter events.

  • Workwear

Hard-wearing acrylic cuffed beanies for outdoor crews, warehouses and cold-weather uniforms.

Logo placement

Where does the logo go on a cuffed beanie?

The front of the cuff is the classic place: it faces forward, sits flat and stays visible however the beanie is worn. A woven label suits retail basics, flat or 3D embroidery suits merchandise and promotions, and a leather or rubber patch gives a premium or workwear look.

Logos can also be knitted into the cuff in jacquard, so they are part of the fabric. For full patterns, slogans and large knitted logos, see our jacquard and graphic beanies.

Customization

Build your cuffed beanie

Every part of the design is yours. Our design team sends a mockup of each logo and label placement, and every detail is confirmed in a tech pack before sampling.

  • Set the cuff

Choose a single or double cuff, its height and a matching or contrast colour. A deeper cuff gives more room for a large logo.

  • Choose the yarn

Acrylic for durable basics, wool or merino for premium warmth, cotton for lighter wear.

    Fabrics and yarns

  • Add a lining

Fleece for extra warmth, cotton for comfort, or satin to protect hair.

    Fleece fabrics

  • Brand the cuff

Woven labels, flat or 3D embroidery, leather or rubber patches, or a jacquard logo knitted into the cuff.

FAQ

Cuffed beanies: frequently asked questions

What is the minimum order for cuffed beanies?

The minimum order is 50 pieces per design. Larger runs are made on the same lines, with a monthly capacity of around 100,000 pieces.

What is the difference between a cuffed and an uncuffed beanie?

A cuffed beanie has a folded band at the brim that doubles the fabric over the ears and carries the logo. An uncuffed beanie, such as a skull cap or a slouchy beanie, has a single layer and a lower profile. See our skull cap beanies.

Where does the logo go on a cuffed beanie?

Usually on the front of the cuff, as a woven label, an embroidered logo or a patch. Logos can also be knitted into the cuff in jacquard, or placed on the side or back.

Can cuffed beanies be lined?

Yes. We line cuffed beanies with fleece, cotton or satin. Fleece adds warmth, cotton adds comfort, and satin protects hair.

How long does cuffed beanie production take?

Standard production lead time is approximately 14 days after sample approval. Actual lead time depends on the product, quantity, customization and material availability, and the confirmed schedule is agreed for each order. Express shipping by DHL, FedEx or UPS then takes 3–6 working days.
