Case Study
Project Overview
This project involved the development of a lightweight motorbike riding balaclava designed to provide full head, lower-face and neck coverage while remaining suitable for use underneath a motorcycle helmet.
The balaclava was produced using lightweight bee mesh made from 100% polyester. Its black construction was paired with contrasting heat-transfer branding on the front and side areas.
The finished design combined lightweight fabric, shaped facial coverage and extended neck protection in a clean monochrome presentation.
The Challenge
The main requirement was to create a balaclava that could provide substantial coverage without using a heavy fabric.
Because the product is intended for motorcycle and helmet applications, the construction also needed to remain relatively low-profile around the head and facial opening.
Another important detail was maintaining clean placement of the front SILENCE® branding and the large vertical side graphic across the textured mesh fabric.
Our Solution
We selected lightweight bee mesh manufactured from polyester to create the main structure.
The pattern was developed with a shaped crown, wide eye opening, raised lower-face panel and extended neck section.
Binding was applied around the opening and edges to produce cleaner contours and improve structural stability.
Heat-transfer graphics were then positioned on the front and side panels to create the required branded appearance without introducing bulky embroidery.
Detailed Result
The completed balaclava delivered a clean black performance look with lightweight full-head construction, extended neck coverage and clearly visible heat-transfer branding.
The bee mesh texture remains visible throughout the garment, while the shaped facial panel and bound opening create a structured appearance suitable for motorcycle-oriented collections.
