Editorial FAQ

How we write, source, correct and license the Journal — and how to work with us.

About the Journal

The Mr Balaclava Journal is a B2B knowledge base published by Mr Balaclava, a custom headwear manufacturer in Sialkot, Pakistan. It explains materials, construction, minimum orders, lead times and private-label production for brand managers, resort buyers and distributors preparing a manufacturing order.

Articles are written by the Mr Balaclava team — people who sample, produce and export headwear every day. Each article names its author or credits the editorial team, and author pages list the topics each writer covers alongside our company credentials, including the ISO 9001 certification and Sedex membership held by Eco Jersey Limited.

The Journal is written for professional buyers: brand and product managers, ski resort and retail buyers, distributors and start-ups planning a first production run. We assume you are comparing suppliers or specifying a product, so articles focus on decisions that affect cost, quality, minimums and delivery rather than consumer shopping advice.

We publish new articles regularly and update existing ones when our processes or the facts change. The Journal appears in English, French, German and Spanish. Each language edition is edited separately, so article counts can differ slightly between languages. The newsletter announces important new guides.

No — and we say so openly. We are a manufacturer, and the Journal reflects our own production experience. To keep that transparent, our services appear only in clearly labelled sections such as the custom manufacturing banner, and we never accept payment from other companies for coverage, links or placement.

Editorial standards

No. The Journal carries no sponsored articles, affiliate links, paid placements or advertising. No supplier, brand or platform can pay to appear in an article or to influence what we write. The only commercial messages are our own, and they are labelled as custom manufacturing information.

Numbers come from our own production work unless an article says otherwise. Minimums, lead times and capacity reflect what we quote today: a 50-piece minimum order, a 14-day standard lead time (7 days on request, up to one month for complex products or very large orders) and around 100,000 pieces produced each month. When we rely on an external standard or source, we name it.

We correct errors openly. When a factual mistake is confirmed, we fix the article, update its modified date and, for material changes, add a short note describing what changed. Spelling and formatting fixes are made without a note. To report an error, email [email protected] with the article link.

We review articles when our processes, prices or the underlying facts change, and the updated date on each article shows the last substantive revision. If a guide no longer reflects how we work, we rewrite it, merge it into a newer article or retire it with a redirect so existing links keep working.

We describe certifications precisely. Eco Jersey Limited, which powers Mr Balaclava, is ISO 9001 certified and a Sedex member. We are not OEKO-TEX certified ourselves: where articles mention OEKO-TEX, they refer to materials we source from OEKO-TEX certified mills, and we can obtain the mill’s certificate for your order on request.

Contributing

Yes. If you want a sourcing, material or production question answered, email [email protected] with the subject line “Journal topic”. We prioritise questions buyers ask us repeatedly, and we may answer yours in a new article or by expanding an existing guide.

We accept a small number of guest contributions from people with direct industry experience, such as designers, brand founders or materials specialists. A pitch should outline the topic, your experience and any original data. We do not accept paid guest posts, link insertions or articles written mainly to promote a product.

If a pitch fits the Journal, we agree an outline with you, edit the draft for accuracy and clarity, and share the final version for your approval before it is published. Contributors are credited by name with a short bio, and accepted articles may be translated into French, German and Spanish.

Every contributor is credited by name on the article and on an author page with a short bio, their role and the topics they cover. Staff articles without an individual byline are credited to the Mr Balaclava Editorial Team. We never publish anonymous articles or invented author personas.

Licensing and citation

Yes. You may quote short passages of up to about 100 words with credit to the Mr Balaclava Journal and a link to the original article. For data points, cite the article title, its published or updated date and the URL, so readers can check the context and any later corrections.

Not without written permission. All Journal articles, images and data are © Mr Balaclava. To republish an article in full, translate it or use it in training material, email [email protected] with the article link and where you plan to use it. We usually ask for attribution and a link back.

Yes, with attribution. Internal presentations and research reports may use individual figures from the Journal if they credit the Mr Balaclava Journal and name or link the source article. For large extracts, commercial resale or publication of our tables, please ask for permission first.

Search engines and AI assistants may index and summarise the Journal, and we welcome citations that link to the source article. Summaries should keep figures in context and attribute them to Mr Balaclava. Our llms.txt file describes the structure of the Journal for automated crawlers.
