Buyer's guide

Choosing a fabric for hijabs

Chiffon is woven from fine, tightly twisted yarns in a plain weave, which makes it light, slightly transparent and fluid. Georgette is a heavier chiffon with a crêpe texture and more body, which many modest-wear brands prefer for hijabs because it holds its shape and does not slip as easily.

Polyester chiffon is affordable, easy to care for and takes vivid sublimation prints. Silk chiffon is lighter and softer and suits luxury and evening ranges. Because chiffon is sheer, a print shows through on the back in a lighter tone.

Chiffon and georgette

Chiffon or georgette?

Both are sheer woven fabrics. Georgette is heavier, with a crinkled crêpe texture that gives it more body and grip; chiffon is lighter, smoother and more transparent.

Polyester chiffon is affordable, easy to care for and takes vivid sublimation prints. Silk chiffon is lighter and softer and suits luxury and evening ranges. Because chiffon is sheer, a print shows through on the back in a lighter tone.

Viscose and modal

Viscose and modal for everyday hijabs

Viscose is soft, breathable and grips lightly, so it stays in place without pins slipping. Modal is a refined viscose that is softer and keeps its shape better after washing; both suit everyday hijabs in warm climates.

FAQ

Hijabs: frequently asked questions

What is the minimum order for hijabs?

The minimum order is 50 pieces per design. Larger runs are made on the same lines, with a monthly capacity of around 100,000 pieces.

Which chiffon is best for hijabs?

Georgette and a medium-weight polyester chiffon are the most popular, because they are opaque enough, keep their shape and are easy to wash. We adjust the weight and size to your market.

What is the difference between chiffon and georgette?

Both are sheer woven fabrics. Georgette is heavier, with a crinkled crêpe texture that gives it more body and grip; chiffon is lighter, smoother and more transparent.

Which hijab sizes do you make?

Most hijabs are 70 × 180 cm or 100 × 200 cm; we also make squares, triangles and any size you specify.

Can you dye hijabs to our colour card?

Yes. We dye to your colour references and confirm every colour on a sample. The minimum of 50 pieces applies per design; we confirm how colours are counted with your quote.

Can chiffon scarves be printed?

Yes. Polyester chiffon takes vivid sublimation and digital prints, and silk chiffon is printed digitally. Because chiffon is sheer, the print shows through on the back in a lighter tone.

How long does hijab production take?

Standard production lead time is approximately 14 days after sample approval. Actual lead time depends on the product, quantity, customization and material availability, and the confirmed schedule is agreed for each order. Express shipping by DHL, FedEx or UPS then takes 3–6 working days.
