Scarf Fabrics

The fabric decides how a scarf drapes, shines, feels and takes a print. This page compares the fabrics we make custom scarves from: mulberry silk, polyester satin and chiffon, viscose and modal, cotton, cashmere, pashmina and wool, plus the jacquard knit of fan scarves. Woven fabrics come from partner mills and are cut, printed, hemmed and branded in our factory in Sialkot; knitted scarves are knitted in-house. The exact blend and weight for your order are confirmed with your quote.

Choosing a fabric

Which fabric for which scarf?

Start with the product and the price point, then choose how the design goes on.

  • Printed squares and neck scarves

Mulberry silk twill and silk satin for luxury ranges; polyester satin and silk-touch twill for uniforms, events and value ranges with bright sublimated prints.

  • Hijabs, shawls and wraps

Polyester or silk chiffon, georgette, viscose and modal drape softly and breathe. Pashmina and woven cashmere make warm, light wraps for winter.

  • Winter and fan scarves

Woven cashmere, wool and merino for premium winter scarves with fringes; double-layer acrylic jacquard for football and club scarves with the design knitted in.

  • Bandanas and summer scarves

Bandana cotton takes classic screen and discharge prints; cotton voile, viscose and linen keep beach and summer scarves light and cool.

Silk weight

Silk weights in momme

Silk is weighed in momme (mm): the higher the number, the heavier, denser and more opaque the fabric. These are typical ranges for scarves; the weight for your order is confirmed with the quote.

Printing and branding

How the design goes on

Sublimation bonds the dye into polyester and only works on polyester fabrics. Silk, viscose, cotton and linen are printed digitally or by rotary or flat screen. Knitted fan scarves carry the design in the knit as jacquard. Branding is usually a small woven or satin label, a printed signature in the design or an embroidered monogram.

FAQ

Scarf fabrics: frequently asked questions

Do you weave the scarf fabrics yourselves?

No. Woven fabrics such as silk, satin, chiffon, viscose, cotton, cashmere and wool come from partner mills; we cut, print, hem, brand, inspect and pack every scarf in our factory in Sialkot. Knitted scarves, including jacquard fan scarves, are knitted in-house.

Can silk scarves be sublimation printed?

No. Sublimation only bonds with polyester. Silk is printed digitally or by screen; for a sublimated look at a lower price, polyester satin or silk-touch twill is the usual choice.

Which fabric is best for hijabs?

Georgette and a medium-weight polyester chiffon are the most popular because they are opaque enough and hold their shape. Viscose and modal are soft and breathable for everyday wear; silk chiffon and georgette suit premium ranges.

Is pashmina the same as cashmere?

Pashmina is a very fine cashmere, often blended with silk for light wraps. Because many fabrics sold as pashmina are blends, we always state the exact composition on the quote and the care label.

What is the minimum order for custom scarves?

Orders start at 50 pieces per design. The standard production lead time is approximately 14 days after sample approval, and the confirmed schedule is agreed for each order.
