Editorial policy

The rules we follow when we research, write, correct and publish the Journal.

Who publishes the Journal

The Mr Balaclava Journal is published by Mr Balaclava, a custom headwear and ski wear manufacturer in Sialkot, Pakistan. Eco Jersey Limited, which powers Mr Balaclava, is ISO 9001 certified and a Sedex member. The Journal exists to help professional buyers make better sourcing decisions.

What we publish

We publish guides on materials and fabrics, manufacturing and production, private label and OEM work, product comparisons, performance and use cases, care and how-to topics, style and trends, and the wider headwear industry. Every article is written for people preparing or managing a manufacturing order.

Independence and disclosure

We are a manufacturer, and the Journal reflects our experience. We never publish sponsored content, affiliate links, paid placements or advertising, and no third party can pay to influence an article.

Our own services appear only in clearly labelled sections, such as the custom manufacturing banner. They are never disguised as editorial content.

Sources and data

Figures come from our own production work unless an article says otherwise. Capacity, minimum order and lead-time figures reflect what we quote at the time of writing: around 100,000 pieces a month, a 50-piece minimum and a 14-day standard lead time, 7 days on request and up to one month for complex products or very large orders (100,000–200,000 pcs).

When a statement depends on an external standard, test method or publication, we name it in the article so readers can verify it.

How we describe certifications

We state certifications exactly. Eco Jersey Limited, which powers Mr Balaclava, is ISO 9001 certified and a Sedex member. We are not OEKO-TEX certified ourselves; references to OEKO-TEX mean materials sourced from OEKO-TEX certified mills or fabric producers, whose certificates we can obtain for an order on request.

Corrections

When a factual error is confirmed, we correct the article, update its modified date and, for material changes, add a short correction note explaining what changed. Spelling and formatting fixes are made without a note.

To report an error, email [email protected] with the article link and the passage concerned.

Updates and dates

Every article shows its publication date and, when revised, its last substantive update. When a guide no longer reflects how we work, we rewrite it, merge it into a newer article, or retire it with a redirect so existing links keep working.

Authors and bylines

Articles carry the name of the person who wrote them, with an author page listing their role and topics. Staff articles without an individual byline are credited to the Mr Balaclava Editorial Team. We do not publish anonymous articles or invented author personas.

Translations

The Journal is published in English, French, German and Spanish. Each language edition is edited separately; where a translation lags behind the source article, the source article is authoritative.

Guest contributions

We accept a small number of contributions from people with direct industry experience. We edit every contribution for accuracy and clarity and do not accept payment, link insertions or promotional articles.
