Testing and certification
How testing and certification work
Flame-resistant clothing is regulated differently in every market, so the brand that sells the balaclava as protective equipment certifies it in its own name. We make that step simple: you get the fabric, the paperwork and the samples, and the freedom to use the laboratory and the standard your customers trust.
-
Lab reports on request
For every flame-resistant order we can provide laboratory test reports for the fabric or the finished balaclava. Ask for them with your quote.
-
Your laboratory, your standard
Send samples to any laboratory you choose and test them to the standard your market requires, such as EN ISO 11612 in Europe or NFPA 2112 in the United States.
-
Documents for your certificate
We supply pre-production samples, fabric details and test reports, and we keep the approved specification fixed, so what your laboratory tests is what we produce in bulk.
Applications
Who orders flame-resistant balaclavas
FR balaclavas protect the head and face where heat, sparks or flash fire are part of the job, and keep workers warm when that job is outdoors in winter.
-
Welding and metalwork
Balaclavas that sit under a welding helmet and protect the neck and face from sparks and spatter.
-
Utilities and energy
For line crews and energy teams whose safety rules call for flame-resistant clothing, including cold-weather shifts.
-
Oil, gas and industrial maintenance
Double-layer or lined styles for long outdoor shifts in refineries, plants and on rigs.
-
Motorsport and karting
Thin, close-fitting balaclavas for under the helmet, branded in team colours.

FAQ
Flame-resistant balaclavas: frequently asked questions
Do you manufacture flame-resistant balaclavas?
Yes. We make FR balaclavas from inherently flame-resistant or FR-treated fabrics, in full face, open face and hooded styles, from 50 pieces per design and under your own label.
Can you provide test reports or certificates?
Lab test reports for the fabric or the finished balaclava are available on request for your order. If you sell the balaclava as protective equipment, the product certificate for your market is issued in your brand's name; we supply the samples and documents your laboratory or certification body needs.
Can we test the balaclavas with our own laboratory?
Yes, and we recommend it. Send samples from the approved sample or the bulk run to the laboratory you trust and test them to the standard your customers ask for, such as EN ISO 11612 or NFPA 2112. We keep the approved specification fixed for production.
Can FR balaclavas carry our logo?
Yes. We agree the logo method, labels and trims with you before sampling, choosing options that suit flame-resistant wear, so the piece your laboratory tests is exactly the piece you sell.
How should flame-resistant balaclavas be washed?
Follow the care label of the fabric used. As a rule, avoid bleach and fabric softener, which can affect flame-resistant finishes, avoid high tumble-drying heat, and store the balaclavas clean and dry.
What is the minimum order and lead time?
The minimum order is 50 pieces per design and the standard production lead time is 14 days. When a specific flame-resistant fabric has to be sourced for your order, we confirm the timing in your quote.
