Buyer's guide

What is a full face balaclava?

A full face balaclava is a head covering that protects the whole head, the face and the neck, with only the eyes left open. It is the most protective balaclava style: it blocks wind and cold, keeps a helmet clean and dry inside, and gives streetwear its masked look.

The one-hole version has a single opening for the eyes or for the whole eye area. Two-hole and three-hole versions add separate openings for the eyes and the mouth; our knitted balaclavas page shows the classic three-hole knit.

  • Ski and snowboard

Thermal fleece or merino under a helmet, often with a mesh breathing panel so goggles fog less.

  • Motorsport and motorcycling

Thin Dry Fit Lycra helmet liners that sit flat under a full-face helmet and wick away sweat.

  • Winter work and commuting

Windproof fleece with a long neck that tucks into a jacket, for outdoor crews and cold commutes.

  • Streetwear and fashion

Knitted and printed full face styles in brand colours, with embroidered or jacquard logos.

Build your full face balaclava

Every part of the design is yours. Our design team sends a preview of each logo and label placement before production starts.

  • Choose the opening

One-hole, two-hole or three-hole, a wide eye opening that works with goggles, or a hinged mouth panel that drops down when the wearer needs air.

  • Pick the fabric weight

Lightweight Lycra for helmet liners, fleece or merino for cold weather, rib knit for streetwear. Fabric weight is matched to each project, from light layers for helmet liners to heavier knits for cold weather.

  • Add performance details

Mesh breathing panels, moisture-wicking linings, flatlock seams that lie flat under a helmet, and extended necks that stay tucked in.

  • Brand it

Embroidered or printed logos on the forehead, cheek or neck, all-over sublimated prints, woven labels and your own packaging.

FAQ

Full face balaclavas: frequently asked questions

What is the minimum order for full face balaclavas?

The minimum order is 50 pieces per design. Larger runs are made on the same lines, with a monthly capacity of around 100,000 pieces.

Can a full face balaclava be worn under a helmet?

Yes. For helmets we use thin, stretchy fabrics such as Dry Fit Lycra with flatlock seams, so the balaclava lies flat and does not create pressure points. Thicker fleece and knit styles suit open helmets or wear without one.

What is the difference between a one-hole and a three-hole balaclava?

A one-hole balaclava has a single opening for the eyes or the eye area and covers the nose and mouth. A three-hole balaclava has separate openings for each eye and for the mouth. One-hole styles are common for skiing and motorsport; three-hole knits are popular in streetwear.

Which fabric is warmest for a full face balaclava?

Thermal fleece and merino wool are the warmest options we make. Merino also handles moisture well, which helps under a helmet. For wind, a polyester-spandex blend can be combined with a fleece lining.

How long does full face balaclava production take?

Samples are sent within 5–7 days of your order. Once the sample is approved, standard lead time is 14 days; 7 days is possible on request. Complex products or very large orders (100,000–200,000 pcs) can take up to one month. Express shipping by DHL, FedEx or UPS then takes 3–6 working days.
