Buyer's guide

How a logo is knitted into a sock

A logo sock is knitted, not printed: the knitting machine selects the needles that form your logo, so it is part of the fabric on both sides and does not crack, peel or fade in the wash. The limits are the number of colours and the size of the design, which depend on the machine. We check every artwork against those limits before sampling and suggest small changes that keep the logo sharp.

Simple, bold logos read best: a wordmark, an icon or a badge on the cuff or ankle, repeated around the leg, or knitted into a pattern. Fine lines and very small text are simplified so they stay legible at sock size. Your woven label, hang tag and packaging finish the product, and Mr Balaclava's name never appears on it.

Logo placement

Where a logo can sit on a sock

The cuff and the outer ankle are the most visible places and suit a wordmark or icon. A logo can also run around the leg as a repeat, sit on the top of the foot or the toe, or be knitted into the footbed so the wearer sees it. We show every placement in a mockup before sampling.

FAQ

Custom logo socks: frequently asked questions

What is the minimum order for custom logo socks?

The minimum order is 50 pairs per design.

Is the logo printed or knitted?

Usually knitted. A jacquard logo is formed by the knitting machine in the yarn colours, so it is part of the sock and does not crack, peel or fade. For full-colour artwork we sublimation-print polyester socks, and a logo can also be embroidered on the cuff.

How many colours can a logo have?

The number depends on the knitting machine, and we confirm it when we review your artwork. Simple two- and three-colour stripes are the most common and the most economical.

Can you add our logo to any sock?

Yes. Any sock in our range can carry a knitted-in logo, from no-show to knee-high, in any of our yarns.

Do you make samples before production?

Yes. We confirm the logo, colours and placement in a mockup and a tech pack, then knit a sample for your approval. Samples are paid 100% in advance.

How long does logo sock production take?

Standard production lead time is approximately 14 days after sample approval. Actual lead time depends on the product, quantity, customization and material availability, and the confirmed schedule is agreed for each order. Express shipping by DHL, FedEx or UPS then takes 3–6 working days.
