What is a mockup and how do I approve it?
Short answer
A mockup is a digital drawing of your product in your colours, with your logo and label placements. Our design team usually prepares it in 1–3 business days. You check it, ask for changes until it looks right, and then give us your approval in writing.
A mockup is a digital drawing of your product: flat drawings in your colours, with your logo and label placements shown at real size. Colourway variants are available on request. Mockups are part of the development we do for your order.
When you get it
Our design team usually prepares the mockup in 1–3 business days. You receive it as a PDF and a PNG. Revisions are made the same or the next business day until the look is right; they are digital and quick.
What to check
- All text and the spelling of your brand name
- The colours and Pantone references for each part
- The logo size and position on every placement
- Labels, hang tags and packaging artwork
- Each colourway you plan to order
How to approve
- Open the mockup we sent you and check it against the list above.
- If something should change, reply with a clear list of the changes. We send a revised version.
- When everything is right, reply in writing (by email or WhatsApp) that you approve the mockup.
- We then prepare the tech pack, usually in 3 to 5 business days. You sign it off; it is the specification your sample and your bulk order are built to.
Note: The mockup shows the look. The sample shows the real fabric and the real embroidery or print, in your hands with a pre-paid sample or on photos or video with a pre-production sample. So you see your branding twice before bulk production.
Approve in My Account
If you have a customer account, we can also send the mockup there. It appears under Needs your attention on the Overview, under Waiting for your approval in Documents and under Approvals on the order page.
- Click Approve, add a note if you like, then Confirm approval.
- Or click Ask for changes, write what should change, then Send the changes.
When a mockup is waiting for you, we email you (Your approval is needed) with a Review and approve button. Your first decision on a version is final. You can also reply by email or WhatsApp. See Approve a mockup or document in My Account.
Orders from the Order Builder
For an order placed with the Order Builder, our team prepares the mockup after you pay the 30% advance. Production starts only after you approve our mockup. If you want a pre-paid (physical) sample first, choose Get a quotation in the builder and tell us. See Which sample do I need?
