Artwork and branding
Which decoration methods do you offer?
Short answer
We offer flat and 3D puff embroidery, screen printing, heat transfer, sublimation, knitted-in patterns, and labels and patches. The right method depends on your logo and the fabric; you see it on the mockup and then on your sample before bulk production.
We choose the decoration method together with you, based on your logo and the fabric. These are the methods we offer:
| Method | Works on | Best for | Limits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Flat embroidery | Knits, fleece, cotton, caps; stretch fabric with a backing | Logos and wordmarks up to about 12 cm | Very fine text and gradients; can feel stiff on thin fabric |
| 3D puff embroidery | Caps, beanies, fleece | Bold raised letters | Not for fine detail or small logos |
| Screen printing | Cotton, blends, bandanas, caps | Spot colours, large prints, promotional runs | One screen per colour; not for stretchy fabric |
| Heat transfer | Cotton, fleece, polyester, blends | Multi-colour logos, small runs, reflective or metallic effects, inside-neck prints | Sits on the surface; less breathable over large areas |
| Sublimation | Polyester and polyester-elastane only | All-over prints, gradients, photos, camo | Not on cotton or wool; needs a white or light base |
| Knitted-in patterns | Knitted beanies, balaclavas, scarves, socks | Jacquard logos, stripes | Detail limited by the stitch; programmed before the sample |
| Labels and patches | Any product | Woven, satin or cotton labels; PVC, rubber, leather or woven patches; embossed logos | Placement confirmed on the mockup |
Placements
Embroidery can go on the front, side, back, cuff, under the brim or inside the neck. On stretch fabrics we use a backing and adjust the stitch density.
You see it before bulk production
You see your branding twice: on the digital mockup at real size, and on your sample with the real embroidery or print. You check the sample in your hands (pre-paid sample) or on photos, videos or a video call (pre-production sample); see Which sample do I need? The Material Library also shows which methods suit each fabric type, and we confirm the method on your sample before bulk production.
Cost
Your quote is per piece and includes the branding techniques specified in the tech pack. Logo preparation for embroidery (digitising) is part of our development work; any set-up charge is shown on your quotation. Extra placements, techniques or packaging are quoted as options, so you can compare.
In the Order Builder, the Branding and artwork step shows the methods for your product and how well each one suits the fabric you chose. The price summary shows their price and any set-up charge; products that are priced on request show Price on request, and your quotation gives the price.

For balaclavas, our Journal guide Balaclava logo and decoration methods compares every method fabric by fabric.
