The order journey

## Nine steps from brief to dispatch

Every order follows the same route. The timings are the ones we quote; they start once you have approved the previous step.

1. **Brief and quote** You send a sketch, a reference product or a finished tech pack, with the quantity per design, the target price and the deadline. We answer with a quote, suggested fabrics and any questions the design raises. 1–2 business days
2. **Fabric and yarn selection** We propose fabrics from our range or source what your product needs, and send swatches or yarn shade cards when colour and hand feel matter. Organic, recycled and OEKO-TEX® mill-certified options are available. [Fabrics and yarns](https://mrbalaclava.com/materials/) · [Material Library](https://mrbalaclava.com/materials/) With the quote
3. **Digital mockup and tech pack** Our design team draws the product with your colours and logo placements, then writes the tech pack: measurements per size, fabric and trim specifications, Pantone references, label artwork and packing instructions. [Sampling and tech packs](https://mrbalaclava.com/manufacturing/process/sampling-and-tech-packs/) Mockup 1–3 days, tech pack 3–5
4. **Physical sample** The sample room makes your product on the same machines and materials as the bulk run. You check fit, fabric, colour and branding; changes go into the tech pack before production starts. [Sizing and fit](https://mrbalaclava.com/manufacturing/process/sizing-and-fit/) 5–7 days
5. **Knitting or cutting** Knitted styles are produced to shape on circular and flatbed knitting machines. Cut-and-sew styles are cut from CAD patterns, nested to keep fabric waste low, then bundled and numbered by size. [Machinery and technologies](https://mrbalaclava.com/manufacturing/process/machinery-and-technologies/) Production days 1–4
6. **Sewing and assembly** Panels are joined with the seam type the product needs: overlock for strength, coverstitch for stretch, flatlock where the seam sits against the skin, bar-tacks on stress points. Linings, mesh panels, zips and drawstrings are inserted here. Production days 4–10
7. **Branding and labelling** Embroidery, prints, heat transfers and sublimation are applied at the stage that suits the technique, and woven labels, size and care labels are sewn in. You approve the placement on the mockup or sample first. [Customization and branding](https://mrbalaclava.com/manufacturing/process/customization-and-branding/) Inline with sewing
8. **Quality control** Fabric is inspected on arrival, operators check their own work inline, and every finished piece is inspected for seams, measurements, colour, branding and labels before it is packed. Photos of the batch go to you. [Quality control](https://mrbalaclava.com/manufacturing/process/quality-control/) Production days 10–14
9. **Packing and shipping** Pieces are folded, tagged and packed as your tech pack specifies, in polybags, kraft wraps or retail boxes, then cartons are labelled and handed to DHL, FedEx or UPS with tracking. By product

## How the process differs by product family

The route is the same, but the machines and the critical checks change with the product.

- **Knitted products: beanies, knit balaclavas, scarves, socks** Made to shape on knitting machines, so there is little cutting waste. The critical checks are yarn count, stitch density, stretch recovery and the finished measurements after washing and steaming. Knit-in jacquard patterns and stripes are programmed before the sample.
- **Cut-and-sew products: fleece and Lycra balaclavas, caps, ski wear** Cut from CAD patterns, sewn from panels and finished with bindings, linings, mesh or zips. The critical checks are pattern grading, seam type and placement, and the fit on the face or under a helmet. Sublimation and printing happen before cutting or on finished panels.

FAQ

## The manufacturing process: frequently asked questions

**### What do I need to start a custom order?**

A description of the product with a sketch, a photo of a reference product or a tech pack, plus the quantity per design and your deadline. If you have no drawings, our design team makes the mockup and the tech pack from your brief.

**### When does the 14-day lead time start?**

When you approve the sample and confirm the order. Development before that (mockup, tech pack, sample) is counted separately, so a first order needs five to seven weeks in total and a reorder about three.

**### Is every step done in-house?**

Yes: design, sampling, knitting, cutting, sewing, embroidery, printing, quality control and packing are done in our facility in Sialkot. Fabrics and yarns are bought from mills, most of them OEKO-TEX® certified.

**### Can I skip the physical sample?**

For a reorder of an approved design, yes. For a new design we recommend the sample: it is made on the production machines, so what you approve is what you receive, and it costs far less than a correction on 500 pieces.

**### How do I follow production?**

Your account manager sends photo and video updates at the milestones (sample, production start, inspection, packing, dispatch) by email or WhatsApp, and the shipment is tracked from dispatch to delivery.

**### Can the process handle 100,000 pieces?**

Yes. Monthly capacity is around 100,000 pieces. Very large orders of 100,000–200,000 pieces, or complex products, are scheduled in batches and can take up to one month in production.
